Updating Your Old Bathroom Can Add Charm To Your Homes By Dallas Bath Remodel

Many folks view their lavatory as a retreat where they can hide out at the end of the day and experience a long soak in the tub or a steaming, hot shower.  Nowadays, bathrooms are more than only bathrooms.  Many people use bathrooms as a retreat from life. 

Many of us would really like to enhance our bathrooms but feel the costs might be overwhelming and out of our reach.  Essentially, a bathroom remodel does not need to be such a major cost.  There are a few tiny things that we are able to do to our toilets which will greatly improve them without draining our bank accounts in the process. 

Update the bathroom Tiles

One change we will make is to simply update the tiles in the bathroom.  I have seen too many bathrooms where the tiles seem to be the cheapest thing that the builder could source.  They are plain and dull.  There are no real patterns or attraction. 

I’m really not announcing that we should go in and replace all of the tile in the bathroom either.  If everything is too neutral, we’d need to consider some accent tiles here and there to add a dash of colour.  In doing this, we might decide to create some colourful patterns on the floors or walls.  If that appears like too much work and cost, we could consider simply doing some coloured tiles to focus on areas round the tub or sink. 

There are tons of good books available on how to install tile and it doesn’t have to be a major project.  There also are free resources available. 

Here in the U.  S.  , many of the big-box do-it-yourself stores will happily give you free info, or even classes, on the best way to install tile. 

Updating cabinets and Fixtures

Another thing we are able to do to actually improve the look of our toilet or for a simple bathroom remodel is to consider updating the cabinets and fixtures. 

For the cabinets, we don’t always have to replace them since that can be dear.  Putting on a fresh coat of paint or re-staining them can make a massive difference in their appearance.  This will make the cupboards look about brand spanking new and someone that sees them might believe that we have essentially replaced them. 

The light fixtures that builders install are often not very appealing.  Replacing those cheap fixtures can be an extreme improvement.  Light fixtures can be very cheap and can significantly improve the appearance of the room. 

If we have old, nauseating taps in the lavatory, we are able to update them with more recent, nicer ones.  New chrome or brass faucets could look great.  This is especially true if we get something more stylish. 

Like the lighting and taps, we are able to also replace the knobs on the cabinets with something nicer.  Knobs are extremely simple to replace and they are not very pricey.  After painting or staining the cabinets, try to imagine how nice they might look after we put shiny, new hardware on them. 

Just a Splash of Paint

One of the least inexpensive things we can do to modify the appearance of our lavatories is to color them.  A fresh coat of paint, in a nice color, can make it feel a bit like a new bathroom.  You may either paint all the walls a similar color or perhaps just create an accent wall to improve the general appearance.  We will add some warm colours or we will be able to add some bold colours, depending on our personal preference. 

All we have to do is use our imagination to consider some things we will be able to do to dress up the space without spending too much money.  We will go to our local home improvement store and just scan around for ideas.  As we look at different ideas, we will be able to estimate how much it might cost us to make those changes.  In fact, we can make changes to our bathrooms without spending huge amounts.  Just let your financial position be your guide and be creative.
